Tonight was the launch of the We Heart Paper exhibition, held at the White Box Gallery, QCA Gold Coast. The theme of the exhibition was ‘Paper’, allowing the artists and designers to go nuts and express their love for the medium. Ten women from a variety of disciplines have produced a mix of hand drawn pieces, origami, paper planes to create a beautiful, cohesive show that is well worth checking out. Word on the street is the exhibition may become a yearly event…fingers and toes crossed.
The 10 exhibiting artists are:
DOMINIQUE FALLA
PORSHA MARAIS
KATELYN HANKINSON
HANNAH GROFF
RACHEAL McCOSH
MEGAN HARRISON
JOELLE PETERS
ASHLEIGH BRENNAN
DENICA LAYTON
KATE O’MALLEY
Congratulations to everyone involved in the exhibition, great show!
I came across the Serial Cut portfolio website today through one of my fave blogs, One Armed Scissor, and immediately fell in love. Not the sort of love you have for a Nutella sandwich when you’re hungry, but more the sort of love most pubescent boys have for boobies.
I think what I like most about their work is the depth, shadow and shading of each piece. So much thought, time and love has gone in to each project and it shows.
Their portfolio is a must see.
This is pretty cool, might have to get the ol’ blocks out and give it a go sometime!
