As part of the Rabbit + Cocoon multi-arts hub launch, myself (Flat White Spaces), LMTD Space, Comb Artspace and Art Harvest collaborated to curate a massive group show featuring emerging and established Aussie artists. The show opened on the 11.11.11 with around 1,500 people popping in to say ‘ello…pretty pumped to see that many people out supporting art on the GC.

My girlfriend and I made the trek up to Brisbane last weekend to check out the 21st Century exhibition @ GoMA Brisbane. It was rad. It felt like a massive playground for everyone. There was a room filled with balloons, a giant indoor slippery slide, a monster table of Lego and even a wall of internet memes. We’ll hopefully get up there again before it ends…

Tonight was the launch of the We Heart Paper exhibition, held at the White Box Gallery, QCA Gold Coast. The theme of the exhibition was ‘Paper’, allowing the artists and designers to go nuts and express their love for the medium. Ten women from a variety of disciplines have produced a mix of hand drawn pieces, origami, paper planes to create a beautiful, cohesive show that is well worth checking out. Word on the street is the exhibition may become a yearly event…fingers and toes crossed.

Congratulations to everyone involved in the exhibition, great show!

I re-stumbled across the delightful Tweenbots page today and my heart instantly felt a little warmer. I love these little dudes and their mission in life/robotism.

Tweenbots are a creation by Kacie Kinzer as an experiment to see how people interact with a lost little robot who can only travel forwards in a straight line. The Tweenbots are equiped with a little flag stating their destination and is up to the people around it to set it in the right, and safe, direction.
